British Motorcycle Insurance Links and Information

Although this site is mainly aimed at the USA motorcycle market and insurance needs and requirements, we are aware that there is a huge community of British bikers surfing the web when the weather is rainy.............but hold it, I forgot European motorcyclists ride in the rain!

So I just plan to include a few links of leading and specialist Insurers in the UK market.

Differences between USA and Europe.
Whereas the USA Motorcycle Market is huge in absolute terms, it is broken up into lots of sectors: Harley Davidson, Cruisers Generally, Gold Wing, Sport Bikes and Dual Sport - plus the huge amount of off-road bikes. The UK and Europe is dominated by Sport Bikes and derivatives; naked and sport touring etc.

The biggest difference in everyday terms is the risk of theft - which is VERY HIGH in the UK. So alarms, immobilizers, locks and chains are a must....just to get insurance. Don't ask me why theft is not such an issue here - they no longer shoot people for stealing horses here......unless you are a long way out of town.

The hot news for 2005 is that Bennetts are sponsoring this leading championship, which many people regard as being a feeder series to WSBK and MotoGP. Heck at least they have a full series there, unlike the USA where events are dropping off by the week.
