The premium for your Yamaha insurance will depend on a number of factors:

  1. You - Your age, experience on bikes, where you live, whether you have completed a MSF training course, any claims history and your driving record.
  2. Your Bike. Your new Superbike is going to be more expensive to insure than your ten-year-old commuter.
  3. You coverage levels. Simply, how much coverage do you need for medical and liability purposes. Someone with little income and few assets will need less coverage than an exec with a country estate! If your bike is older, then you need less coverage than a new one, and collision coverage is often not needed.

Check out other pages on this site to build a picture of what you need for your own situation and then contact an agent or company - either online, or at an office in your area.

Yamaha has had its own branded insurance program in the past, so its worth checking with your dealer to see if there are any current deals for riders. These will often be open to riders of used Yamaha's too.

And remember if you have an old Yamaha that only does a few hundred miles a year, it could qualify under a collectors policy.
